Johnny Cope
Dallas-based Builders FirstSource named Johnny Cope, formerly with building material supplier James Hardie, as the national prodealer’s president of commercial.
Cope replaces Mike Farmer, who left Builders FirstSource earlier this month to pursue other interests.
As president of commercial, Cope’s role is to lead all sales and national account customer initiatives, marketing, customer segment strategy, and innovation. “In this role, he drives sales across all lines of business and strengthens partnerships to position Builders FirstSource as the supplier of choice, accelerating profitable growth,” the company stated.
Cope brings nearly three decades of industry experience. He comes to Builders First Source from a role as senior vice president of North American sales for James Hardie, a position he joined in 2019.
Prior to his tenure at James Hardie, Cope spent a decade at Electrolux Major Appliances North America, where he was vice president of the Builder and Home Depot businesses. His career also includes multiple builder/contract roles in the appliance division of the General Electric Company, where he was responsible for the Southwest contract region during his last six years.
Cope holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Texas Tech University.
