2021 NFC Dues Letter from the President

National Framers Council logo

On behalf of everyone at the National Framers Council (NFC), thank you for being part of our growing organization. Your involvement in this national association provides significant support to the framing industry and the entire construction supply chain. We are asking you to renew your membership for the coming year and continue your investment in our efforts to improve jobsite safety and increase the professionalism of every framer. We want to help every framing contractor member grow their business and be successful in this ever-changing environment.

Our primary goals are to create a safer workplace for all framers, develop framing standards that will improve the buildability of structures, and come alongside framing contractors to help them find ways to take advantage of the opportunities in their market to grow their business and make their daily lives easier.

CISC members

One organization we have partnered with to help us achieve our jobsite safety goal is the Construction Industry Safety Coalition (CISC). The CISC is made up of 30 trade associations from all sectors of the construction industry, including commercial building, heavy industrial production, home building, road repair, specialty trade contractors, material suppliers, and construction equipment manufacturers. This group focuses heavily on workplace safety and health, with each member committed to helping create safer construction jobsites for workers. Through our involvement with the CISC we have been able to have a significant voice in the direction OSHA takes in developing an emergency standard for COVID-19.

The more framers we bring into the organization, the stronger we become as we seek to create framing standards for our industry.  As a member, you already understand the value of being part of the organization. Help us reach out and bring more framers and general contractors into the NFC. Any framer or GC you bring into NFC earns you recognition as a membership recruiter and may earn you an invitation into the NFC’s exclusive Top Chord Club.

Of course, one of the most valuable parts of your membership is our annual Framer’s Summit.  This year, the summit will be held in Omaha, Nebraska, October 3-4 prior to the BCMC Show. This two-day event will feature several roundtable discussion on everything from today’s lumber market and contract negotiations to an economic forecast and insight into ongoing mergers and acquisitions in our industry. You also don’t want to miss our first annual table-top trade show exclusively from framing contractors, it promises to give every framer a chance to improve their businesses and have some meaningful opportunities to network.  Mark your calendar today and look for more details on the summit in the next few weeks.

From updates to FrameSAFE to standards development to the Framer’s Summit, we continue to increase the value of the organization to the framing industry. All of this is made possible through our relationship with the Structural Building Components Association (SBCA). Going forward, we plan to work more closely with the SBCA to expand opportunities for both framers and component manufacturers to collaborate and succeed together in the market.  We expect many valuable things will come out of this partnership as both our industries seek to improve the process of designing and erecting the structural framework of buildings.

Sincerely,
