Jason Hikel

Jason Hikel is an At-Large Representative of the SBCA Board of Directors; he also serves on SBCA’s IT Committee, Marketing Committee, and Governance Committee. Jason has been involved with SBCA for 15 years and attended his first Open Quarterly Meeting (OQM) in Baltimore 2017.

His favorite parts of SBCA are the relationships he’s formed and all that he’s learned from other members sharing similar challenges. He enjoys the unique challenges that component manufacturing throws at him on a daily basis.

As an SBCA Board Member, Jason’s goal is to continue the association’s championship for components in markets that are under-served, while continuing to provide opportunities for CMs to create long-lasting relationships and to share knowledge.

Both Jason’s father and grandfather have been heavily involved in SBCA throughout the years as they recognize the importance and value the association brings to their company. Jason shares in this sentiment and has become increasingly more involved, with achievements such as co-founding the IT Committee with Greg Dahlstrom and acting as a previous chair of the SBCA LaunchPad (FKA Emerging Leaders Committee). Sharing his knowledge and experience with other SBCA members is Jason’s way of giving back to an industry that has given himself and his family so much over the years.

Jason is the Director of IT at Shelter Systems Limited and has been with the company for 22 years. In his role, he wears many hats, but the technological side of the business is what really excites him. It gives him the ability to creatively solve complex problems while working in an industry that produces something that people live in. “What technology geek wouldn’t love getting to play with lasers, robotic saws, and all sorts of other automated equipment and processes all day?” says Jason. Outside of work and SBCA, Jason is an avid fisherman, car nerd, and disc golfer. Jason can be reached at info@sbcacomponents.com.
