What: 2025 SBCA Legislative Fly-In -- A key advocacy opportunity where SBCA members meet with their federal lawmakers to discuss critical issues affecting the component manufacturing and residential construction industries.
Who: SBCA and NFC members, including, but not limited to, CMs, Framers, and Suppliers, addressing lawmakers and regulators from across the country.
When: Wednesday, June 4, 2025, during the Washington, D.C. SBCA OQM
Where: Capitol Hill, Washington, D.C.

Why:
- To raise awareness on industry-specific issues and promote positive changes for component manufacturing and home building at the federal level.
- To build relationships with policymakers and advocate for legislation and government intervention that supports the component manufacturing and home building industries.
- Ensure that the industry has a voice and that its concerns are heard in Washington, D.C., and that legislators understand the economic and workforce importance and challenges faced by building component manufacturers.
- Engage with other industry leaders, government officials, and stakeholders to build alliances and share best practices that benefit the industry.
- Advocate for specific policies that could drive growth, innovation, and sustainability within the structural building components sector.
- Demonstrate the significant role the structural building components and framing industry plays in creating jobs, improving building safety, affordable and sustainable housing, and driving economic growth.
How:
- Meetings with Congressional representatives and/or their legislative staff.
- Collaborative discussions on policy initiatives and industry priorities.
- The 2025 SBCA Legislative Fly-in will include pre-scheduled meetings where members will engage in one-on-one or group discussions with federal lawmakers. During these meetings, SBCA and NFC members will present policy positions, offer detailed explanations of industry challenges, share current challenges facing their businesses, and push for legislative solutions tailored to the building component sector.
