Builders FirstSource Acquires O.C. Cluss Lumber

Builders FirstSource acquired Pennsylvania-based O.C. Cluss Lumber & Building Supplies, which operates four locations in Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia.
Dallas-based Builders FirstSource in an email said “O.C. Cluss has built a reputation for excellence as a leading supplier of lumber, building materials, and installation services” in the markets it serves. The company was founded in 1918.
O.C. Cluss operates units outside of Pittsburgh in Greensburg and Uniontown, Pennsylvania. Other units are in Fairmont, West Virginia and Oakland, Maryland. In addition to pro yards, its operations include a door shop facility (in Maryland) and Cluss Professional Installation Services.
O.C. Cluss operates two Pennsylvania locations, and one each in Maryland and West Virginia.
Terms of the deal were not released.
The move follows shortly on the heels of the BFS acquisition of Alpine Lumber in Colorado.
Builders FirstSource operates about 600 locations coast-to-coast, with some 29,000 employees. It had $17.1 billion in sales for the year ended Dec. 21, 2023.
