March 31, 2023: Market Slow, but Return to Normalcy Around the Corner
Date postedMarch 31, 2023
Jeff Hoggard and Ben Rist with American International Forest Products (AIFP) provide a snapshot of the current lumber market. Weather has contributed to a delay in many projects, which has pushed both the spring buy season as well as allowing logging in some regions of the country. While the market is slow this far into the year compared to recent years, once weather stabilizes, it’s anticipated the market will become more robust very quickly. Jeff has been with AIFP since 2012 with a focus on U.S. Fir species and MSR, and Ben recently joined AIFP and specializes in low grade lumber out of the West. Both specialize in lumber used in the component manufacturing industry.
