Mead Lumber Purchases Triple 'S' Building Center Inc.

Mead Lumber Company today announced the purchase of Triple “S” Building Center Inc. of Butte, Montana. Triple “S” is a family owned business and has serviced the southwest Montana area as a full service lumber yard and building material supplier for professional builders and remodelers, homeowners and commercial contractors since 1988. They are also a member of the Do it Best hardware cooperative.

“We are excited to join the Mead Lumber family,” said Doug and Dave Stordahl, co-owners of Triple “S”. “Mead Lumber has all of the values we hold dear here at Triple S. And with Mead Lumber being an employee owned company with 48 locations, their size and the way they do business will undoubtedly benefit our customers and employees now and in the future.”

“This is an exciting acquisition for us,” said Dave Anderson, president of Mead Lumber. “Triple “S” not only fits with us culturally as a company, but their location helps us expand into the Montana market more, where we already have three other locations and a truss manufacturing facility. We are looking forward to combining the strengths of our two companies to provide our customers a superior level of service.”

The business will continue to operate under the name Triple “S” Building Center. The current management team under the direction of Doug Stordahl, general manager, will continue to lead day-to-day operations, along with all current employees.
