Editor’s Note: SBCA will be hosting a technical lab and the following education session at this virtual event:
Solving Framing Labor Constraints Through Integration
Did you know that over 95% of NAHB builder members subcontract their framing labor? Did you know that within the last 12 months, multiple studies have illustrated that a lack of knowledgeable framing labor is preventing builders from adopting systems-built construction methods? During this interactive, interview-style webinar, learn how three companies have adopted different business models using prefabricated structural framing components to solve the local framing labor riddle and help builders construct more homes.
The Building Systems Housing Summit, initially scheduled for Sept. 12-14 in Atlanta, has been postponed. In its place, NAHB will host an Offsite Construction Week from Sept. 20-24. The webinar series will feature many of the educational programs scheduled for the Summit but presented in a virtual format.
“This decision was based on several factors, the first of which was the onsite experience of our guests,” stated Building Systems Councils Chairman Brian Sielaff. “The host hotel, the Atlanta Midtown W, recently announced a multi-month rebranding, and although we are confident it will serve as a tremendous host in 2022, to ensure attendees have the best conference possible, we are postponing the Building Systems Summit until next year.”
The Offsite Construction Awards application has also been extended to reflect the change. Winners will be recognized during a virtual awards ceremony, instead of the Summit, at a later date.
