Each year at BCMC, SBCA takes time to honor those who have significantly contributed to and supported the industry and SBCA over the years.

HALL OF FAME

Gene Frogale, 
Blue Ocean Development 
Each year at BCMC, SBCA inducts a member into the SBCA Hall of Fame. This award was created to honor the individuals that have contributed significantly to the advancement of both SBCA and the structural building components industry in a meaningful and beneficial manner. This person is honored for their active participation in the growth and success of SBCA initiatives, which serve the overall best interests of the structural building components industry. 

SBCA INDUSTRY LEADERSHIP AWARD

BJ Louws,
Louws Truss 
This award was established to honor individuals who have helped nurture, support, and grow the structural building components industry as a whole with their vision, innovation, and creativity.  

DICK BOWMAN INDUSTRY ENTHUSIAST AWARD

Michael Schwitter, 
Alpine, an ITW Company 
The Dick Bowman Industry Enthusiast Award was created and named in honor of Dick Bowman, a long-time SBC Magazine and exhibit space salesman, whose enthusiasm and support of the structural building components industry epitomized the views and goals of the industry. This award honors an individual from an SBCA supplier member company who, over the years, has supported BCMC and the structural building components industry with enthusiasm and integrity in an unselfish and positive manner.  

DWIGHT HIKEL HUMANITARIAN AWARD

The Dwight Hikel Humanitarian Award was created in memory of Dwight Hikel, a long-time titan in the structural building components industry. This award was established to honor individuals for their mentoring spirit and generosity in philanthropic activities in the structural building components industry, and/or sharing ideas, time, and talents for the purpose of mentoring others in the industry. 

SBCA CHAPTER SERVICE AWARD

Norm McKenna
The SBCA Chapter Service Award was newly established in 2024 to honor individuals for their exceptional commitment, leadership, and contributions to the continued success and growth of SBCA Chapters.
