Chris Tatge
Chris Tatge is the current NFC Representative on the SBCA Board of Directors; he has been involved with the Structural Building Components Association (SBCA) and National Framers Council (NFC) since 2013. In addition to Chris’s seat on the SBCA Board of Directors, he is the Past-President of NFC, a member of the NFC Steering Committee, NFC Safety Committee, and chair of the NFC Framer Summit Planning Committee. Chris’s favorite part of the association is all the effort that goes into improving the structural building components industry, which in turn helps framers be more successful with the products component manufacturers (CMs) produce.
As the framer representative on the SBCA Board of Directors, Chris takes his responsibility very seriously as he represents a large number of framers and has critical input and perspective to the industry. He enjoys sharing insights with component manufacturers about the way framers think, what framers need from CMs, and providing help to find collaborative opportunities between the two groups to continue to progress this industry forward together.
Chris, a framing contractor for over 25 years, is the Founder and President of DC Materials, a Wisconsin-based company specializing in providing comprehensive turnkey framing solutions and lumber for multi-family and commercial construction projects. Chris founded his company 11 years ago, and previously worked as a labor-only framing contractor. In his current role, he has many responsibilities that change daily due to the nature of his growing business, but he most enjoys the business development and sales. Interestingly, Chris was once featured as the face of OSHA on 1,700 billboards across America. One accomplishment that Chris is very proud of is DC Materials was named as the 539th fastest-growing company in the United States on the Inc. 5000 List by Inc. Magazine in 2024.
Beyond work and the association, Chris is an avid collector of tattoos and likes to look for good artists for future tattoos as he travels around for work and association events. Chris is very active on LinkedIn, so you can find him there at: https://www.linkedin.com/in/chris-tatge-38007a72/ or he can be reached at NFC@sbcacomponents.com.
