Greg Dahlstrom

Greg Dahlstrom is a Chapter Representative of the SBCA Board of Directors and has been involved in the association for about 13 years. He also serves as the chair of SBCA’s IT Committee and is a member of the BCMC Committee.

Working in the structural building components industry has always been exciting for Greg; he most enjoys the co-mingling of the old and new technologies, which he finds both fun and frustrating. Throughout his involvement with SBCA, he has aided in the co-founding of the IT Committee and has focused on sharing IT knowledge and best practices within the industry. As a member of the SBCA Board of Directors, Greg’s goal is to have the association remain engaging for members, providing opportunities to get involved, and to help others learn and improve. He has also made it his personal mission to help provide insight and awareness to critical topics like cybersecurity and disaster recovery to other CMs.

Like many in the industry, Greg is a second-generation truss manufacturer; his father taught him a lot of the how and the why of the industry. Additionally, he has had the privilege of working with many mentors over the course of his career, teaching and helping him with things from business to analytical computer processes. Greg has been in the truss industry since 2000, focusing primarily on IT and technology, and how that can improve daily work and productivity. Currently, Greg is the Senior Manager of Manufacturing Technology at US LBM, and in his role, he has been able to drive a lot of change that he hopes makes a positive impact on the daily work of not only his team members throughout the organization but the industry as a whole. “Building trusses may seem like an inconsequential thing, but it can have life-changing effects on many people,” says Greg. “Making housing more affordable can enable better and more comfortable lives, as well as provide good and meaningful jobs to countless people. Every day I am constantly energized by knowing that my efforts and struggles really can make the lives of others better.”

Outside of work and SBCA, Greg enjoys being outdoors, hunting, spending time with family, and traveling. So much so, that he and his wife are currently working through a bucket list of visiting all the countries that begin with the letter “U”. Greg can be reached at info@sbcacomponents.com.
