Justin Richardson

Justin Richardson is a Chapter Representative for the SBCA Board of Directors and has been involved in the association for over eight years. When Justin first started at Richco, he didn’t have as broad understanding of the components industry, so instead of returning to school to get an MBA, he got involved with SBCA in order to gain the knowledge and experience he needed, taking a more practical path in learning the industry. In addition to serving on the SBCA Board, Justin serves on SBCA’s Marketing Committee as its Chair, and is also on the Governance Committee.

The association provides many great opportunities for its members to connect, which is one of Justin’s favorite parts of SBCA. He enjoys seeing everyone at the quarterly meetings and has made some great friends and peers that he can rely on if stuck with an issue. As both a member and leader of SBCA, Justin’s goal with the Marketing Committee is to continue the progress of components in the building industry, tailoring everything to the mission of both SBCA and the committee.

Being a family-owned business, Justin has been a part of Richco Structures for the most part of 13 years. Justin earned his Bachelor of Science from Elmhurst University. After college, he worked in a varietal number of roles throughout Richardson Industries, being promoted to President in 2020. In his role as President, Justin oversees sales, accounts receivable, insurances, and the overall P&L. He is responsible for developing the company culture, and ensuring the overall success of the company. Last year, their company turned 175 years old, having been incorporated in 1848. Over the years, they have been involved in a multitude of different businesses with both successes and failures, but being the 7th generation involved in the business and being in a position to help grow and make the company more prosperous for the next generation is rewarding for Justin.

Outside of SBCA, Justin is also involved in running their family’s non-profit, The Sharon S. Richardscon Hospice Home, which his grandfather started after his grandmother passed away from breast cancer. He currently serves on the board of this organization and is glad to be making a difference for their community and providing end-of-life care for those who need it. Beyond his philanthropic efforts, work, and association life, Justin enjoys golfing, traveling, and following his kids around with their various activities.
