Rachel Hoops

Rachel Hoops is an Associate Representative of the SBCA Board of Directors. She also holds seats on the Marketing Committee and SBCA LaunchPad. Rachel has been involved with SBCA for the last four years. Rachel has found that the best way to get more engaged in the association is by attending the face-to-face events, meeting people, making connections, having discussions, and learning as much as possible along the way. Rachel says, “If I could give one piece of advice to members, or nonmembers, it’s to just show up and talk to the staff and current members. You will not only make some great friendships, but it will really help your business and industry knowledge.”

Having come from the cut-throat industry of fashion retail, there is a lot that Rachel loves about the building material industry, such as the collaboration and open discussion and how grounded the people are and the common goals they share. As for SBCA, her favorite part is the opportunity to meet people from all over the country. With the many similarities of how truss manufacturing is conducted, it is interesting to Rachel to learn the nuances and differences of each state and region. All of this has helped her serve her member base better to understand the different aspects of the landscape of this country.

As an SBCA Board Member, Rachel’s goal is to ensure that the many voices and market approaches of her cooperative and the industry are heard through shedding light on the varied ways that truss manufacturers go to market, in addition to finding ways to ensure that the growth of this industry is positive.

Rachel earned undergraduate degrees in Supply Chain & Management Systems and Forest Products Marketing from Penn State University and her MBA from West Chester University. Over her career, she has been honored with several awards such as the CEO Award at a previous company, Burlington Stores Inc., Volunteer of the Year for BOMF Philadelphia, and the Rising Star Award from HBS Dealer at the Top Women in Hardware and Building Supply Event. Currently, Rachel is the Components and B2B Sales Manager at LMC, and has been with the company for almost eight years. She wears many hats, but one of the most consistent aspects of her job is that everything revolves around the advancement of components, where Rachel advocates for the utilization of components across the country through collaborating with CM partners to sell trusses and wall panels to lumberyards.

Outside of work and SBCA, you can often find Rachel on the bay of Jersey sailing in the summer months or in the mountains skiing in the winter, hanging out with her husband and their rescue dog, Belle, or giving back to the community by volunteering with different charity organizations, such as American Corporate Partners.
