Roger Helgeson
Roger Helgeson is a member of the SBCA Board of Directors and one of the current At-Large Representatives on the SBCA Executive Committee, in addition to the Chair of the Management Committee. Roger has been involved in the Structural Building Components Association (SBCA) since 2011, when he arrived at The Truss Company by way of acquisition. His first Open Quarterly Meeting (OQM) was San Diego in 2011, and since then he has rarely missed an event.
As an active and dedicated member of the association and its leadership, Roger enjoys the responsibility that comes along with being on the Executive Committee. “The friendships that have formed through meetings and weekly calls, combined with the various events held throughout the year, make being a part of this great organization very valuable and appreciated,” says Roger.
For Roger, it is nice to see the SBCA staff grow and offer more services for members, which increases the value-add of SBCA and furthers the mission of the association, while bettering the broader industry.
Having grown up in a home builder family, Roger worked for the family business and had his own custom home building company for several years prior to venturing to the supply side of the industry. Eventually, he transitioned to working for an independent lumberyard in Northwest Washington, where he sold trusses and lumber. From this experience, became hooked on trusses and started working for Tri-County Truss. It was later acquired and became The Truss Company. Roger has served as President of the company for over 12 years. Outside of work, Roger enjoys spending time with and building projects for friends and family, cooking and BBQing, and snowmobiling.
