SBCA Staff Spotlight: Jennifer Gustafson

SBCA is excited to announce Jennifer Gustafson as its recently promoted Director of Finance. Jennifer is someone many SBCA members are probably familiar with, whether from meeting Jennifer at an OQM or BCMC, her calling to collect dues, or her excellently and efficiently managing the association’s finances. Jennifer is a key piece to the SBCA team and association as its newly promoted Director of Finance, a title which is well-deserved.
Jennifer has 28 years of accounting experience, with 21 of those years in the component manufacturing industry. She started her career in the industry working for several component manufacturing companies and then moved to a component manufacturing design and consulting firm. Jennifer began working with SBCA over three years ago as the Controller; in that role she enjoyed the challenge of helping the association transition to a self-managed organization.
With Jennifer’s vast knowledge and experience in finance and accounting within the structural components industry, she plays a vital part in the efficiency and well-being of the association, its members, and its staff. “Having Jennifer on the team provides a lot of reassurance and comfort in knowing that things are getting done, and getting done right,” says Jess Lohse, SBCA’s Executive Director. “Knowing that Jennifer is very precise, accurate, and always on top of her work has made my life a lot easier and has definitely benefited the association for the last few years.”
As Director of Finance, Jennifer works closely with the SBCA Finance Committee to help maintain the financial strength and health of the association. She also works closely with the SBCA Foundation & Endowment, where she enjoys helping to rejuvenate this all-important charitable organization. Additionally, Jennifer is at the helm of accounting operations, managing various accounts, budget and financial planning, and financial management of the association.
As Jennifer has been with SBCA and this industry for several years, many people have had the pleasure of working with her closely in their various roles within the association. “I have worked with Jennifer for the last couple of years; I am always impressed with her quick recall and ability to locate information with great detail,” says Larry Dix II, Owner of Apex Truss and President-Elect/Treasurer of SBCA. “She is definitely a great asset for SBCA.”
Jennifer earned a BA in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Jennifer is a wine enthusiast, enjoys traveling to new places, loves reading, and spending time with her kids.
