Talbert Building Supply, an independent, family‐owned lumber and building materials dealer based in North Carolina, has announced its plans to acquire Poindexter Lumber Company of Clemmons, North Carolina. The acquisition will be the fifth Talbert branch, joining locations in Roxboro, Durham, and Asheboro, North Carolina, and Clarksville, Virginia. The closing is scheduled for November 15.
Talbert Building Supply is acquiring Poindexter Lumber Company.
Founded in 1926, Poindexter Lumber Company is a fourth‐generation lumber and building materials dealer servicing custom builders, remodelers, and retail customers in the greater Winston‐Salem market. It is led by third and fourth‐generation owner‐operators Tom and Chris Poindexter. Both Tom and Chris will continue in essential transition and leadership roles as consultant and general manager, respectively, for the Clemmons location.
“We are excited to join the well‐established group at Talbert Building Supply,” said Tom Poindexter, president of Poindexter Lumber Company. “Their business model is a well‐suited fit to continue what our family has established over the past 95 years, and we are thankful for this opportunity.”
“We are grateful to join with another independent dealer to serve our customers, communities, and teams,” said Talbert Building Supply founder and CEO, Danny Talbert. “I appreciate the trust Tom and Chris have placed in us to continue their tradition of quality service and value. They have a wonderful business, a dedicated team, and an incredible facility from which to operate. We look forward to honoring their family’s contributions to the industry and surrounding communities by welcoming the Poindexter team to Talbert and working together to deliver an exceptional customer experience.”
