The Building Center Buys Dixie Lumber

The Building Center reported that it has closed on its acquisition of Dixie Lumber Company in Easley, S.C.

The financial terms of the deal, finalized on July 22, were not disclosed.
According to The Building Center, the move the prodealer additional access to upstate South Carolina and the fast-growing Greenville market.
Dixie Lumber Company, Inc. has served builders, remodelers, and homeowners for the past 79 years.
“We’re extremely excited to have the opportunity to continue to make inroads and build relationships with builders and remodelers in upstate South Carolina,” said Skip Norris, president of The Building Center. “Dixie Lumber Company, Inc. has been in business since 1943, owners CE Lawton and Todd Merriss have built a great team over the years and have a wonderful reputation for service.”
Founded by Norris in 1977 Norris, The Building Center has multiple operations throughout the Carolinas including two truss plants, two custom millwork operations, and six active lumberyards.
“Our mission is to be our customer’s most-valued building partner. That means we have the products he or she needs on hand, trucks to deliver, and manufacturing support throughout every inch of the Carolinas,” Norris said.
This marks the fifth acquisition for the company in the last six years.
On June 1, The Building Center purchased Harleyville Builders Supply baked in Holly Hill, S.C.
That acquisition provided The Building Center with access to South Carolina’s low country and coastal markets near Charleston.
