A pair of US LBM brands are joining forces under one banner.
East Haven Builders Supply and Ridgefield Supply Company are combining, according to an email issued to customers.
The two companies will now be known as "East Haven & Ridgefield Building Supply."
“By combining companies, we are expanding on our expertise and capabilities to provide you with innovative forward-thinking solutions to help you grow your business,” East Haven and Ridgefield said.
Combined, East Haven and Ridgefield operate multiple yards, showrooms, and truss manufacturing in Connecitcut and New York.
East Haven Builders Supply was founded in 1960 by the Thomas family with the goal of becoming the dominant supplier of building materials to contractors primarily in the Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and New York markets.
Based in East Haven, Connecticut, the dealer was one of US LBM’s original transactions when it was acquired in the fall of 2009. The move also marked US LBM’s entry into the state. Today, US LBM's website indicates that it operates more than 440 locations.
The division’s portfolio includes an East Haven yard, showroom, and Universal Components truss manufacturing operations, along with Newtown Lumberyard in Sandy Hook, Connecticut; and a showroom in Pleasantville, New York.
Now, Ridgefield Lumber is part of this family of locations.
Founded as the Osborn & Gilbert lumberyard in 1883, Ridgefield Supply Company is based in Ridgefield, Connecticut near the eastern New York state border and was acquired by US LBM in November 2020.
According to the two prodealers, the new combination is expected to benefit its builder and remodeling customers. This includes:
- The division having greater purchasing power
- Greater access to readily available building supplies
- Competitive pricing
- New technology that saves customers time and money
- A wider array of products and services
- Access to the country’s leading manufacturer of building products
