NFC and SBCA members raised a considerable amount of money this year to benefit Operation Finally Home (OFH), an organization that provides mortgage-free homes to wounded, ill, and injured military veterans, first responders, and their families to honor their service and sacrifice to our country and communities.
In August, framers, component manufacturers, and several of their suppliers and customers joined together at the Turf Valley Resort in Maryland for a beautiful day of golf and camaraderie at the National Framers Council Charity Golf Tournament, while raising $7,050.18 for OFH.
At the Joe & Adam Kannapell 5k run/walk in October during SBCA’s BCMC 2022 in Columbus, Ohio, 51 participants traversed the city on a cool but clear morning before the show kicked off for the day. In total, the event raised $3,210.14 for OFH.
“Both of these events are great examples of how relationship-building efforts can also improve the lives of the people in the communities we serve and for those who served our country in the armed forces,” says Jess Lohse, executive director of SBCA and NFC. “Over the next year, we’d like to help more of our chapters and members host regional activities like these to both build our industry community and help our communities.”
