The SBCA Foundation Dinner is one month away, with a deadline to purchase your tickets or tables by September 24th. The SBCA Foundation Dinner will be held on the banks of Lake Michigan at Discovery World, Tuesday, October 8, 2024, from 6-10pm Central Time, during BCMC Show week. This dinner will include a live auction, fundraising games, speakers, an award ceremony, great company, food, and music.
Join in the FUNdraising and take a chance at guessing correctly with games of Heads or Tails, with a chance to win cash prizes. Donation tickets to participate in the Heads or Tails games will be available upon checking in at the event.
The good times won’t stop at the dinner, as there will be multiple items up for auction during the event, including a Historic Yachting Weekend on the Chesapeake Bay for four. Come aboard the Sapphire and take a trip to the historic town of St. Michael’s, Maryland, otherwise known as “the town that fooled the British”. This trip includes two (2) nights of overnight accommodations in St. Michaels and all meals for the weekend. With plenty to do in St. Michael’s such as cycling, kayaking, shopping, and visiting the Maritime Museum, it will be a trip for the books!
“Boating on the Chesapeake Bay is a very unique experience. The views and sights are amazing, from seeing the exact spot where “The Star Spangled Banner” was written to Annapolis Naval Yard to more recent history of where the Francis Scott Key Bridge was located prior to its collapse,” says Jess Lohse, SBCA Executive Director. “The Chesapeake is also known for amazing food including blue crab and even the occasional “Orange Crush” to quench your thirst. This is an incredible opportunity for a lucky winner that is sure to deliver a once-in-a-lifetime experience and lasting memories!”
Another live auction item will be a Montana Black Bear Hunting Trip with Swan Mountain Outfitters in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. This five-day hunting trip will include lodging, meals, and guide services. In Montana, black bear hunting is done fair chase – no bait, no dogs. These hunts are often done off of horseback, making it a very unique experience.
“Montana is an amazing place corner to corner, but this bear hunting trip is in one of the most scenic locations North America has to offer. South of Glacier National Park and adjacent to the famed Bob Marshal Wilderness area, this hunt offers a legitimate back country, off the grid, experience,” exclaims Jess. “Late May into June is one of the best times to see the Rocky Mountains near the Continental Divide. You’ll be sure to see snow-capped mountain ranges on horseback during what is traditionally the ‘spring runoff’. Beyond the bears, it’s also likely to see to mountain goats, big horn sheep, elk, deer, and maybe even a grizzly in addition to other wildlife and critters!”
This dinner is an event you won’t want to miss with incredible opportunities to give back to the industry, have a great time, and possibly win a fun trip! Tickets are available for purchase as individual tickets or you can upgrade with a table sponsorship, where the table upgrade portion is donated to the SBCA Foundation & Endowment.
