Greg Griggs

Greg Griggs currently holds a seat on the SBCA’s Executive Committee, Board of Directors, Governance Committee, BCMC Committee, and the Past Presidents Council; he has been involved with the Structural Building Components Association (SBCA) since 1996.  

Over the years, Greg has been very active in the association, having sat on many committees, held numerous leadership roles, and been an active participant in many projects and tasks. As part of Greg’s tenure with the association, he held the role of SBCA President in 2019, with the preceding roles of SBCA Secretary and Treasurer, and following his presidency, Past-President. Previously, he has held the roles of BCMC Committee Co-Chair and Chair, BCMC Programs Co-Chair and Chair, BCMC Exhibitors Co-Chair and Chair, and Marketing Committee Co-Chair and Chair, in addition to previously holding seats on the Membership Committee and QC Committee. 

One of Greg’s favorite aspects of this industry is watching how the building industry advances, how the technology evolves, and how it consistently adapts and contributes to making the home building process more efficient. As a leader of the SBCA, a goal of Greg’s is to execute on the association’s Strategic Plan and continue to develop and provide extremely beneficial services for our industry and membership.  

Greg is no stranger to this industry, having started as a Sawyer at a truss company in Columbia, MO, later joining his father’s self-started plant. While there, he moved through production, design, and management prior to departing for a position at Toll Brothers, where he spent nine years. He eventually moved on to Stock Building Supply for 14 years, eventually landing at Builders FirstSource (BFS), where he’s been the last 14 years and is the Senior Vice President – Manufacturing - East. In this role, Greg leads a team of experienced manufacturing experts charged with developing and implementing new ideas, processes, and techniques within the BFS component manufacturing operations. With consistent drive and focus on operational efficiencies and excellence, he and his team are responsible for assuring service levels in all the BFS component operations exceed their customers’ needs and expectations.  

With many achievements over the course or Greg’s career thus far, it is important to point out his receipt of the SBCA Industry Leadership Award in 2022, in addition to his Lean Six Sigma Certified Green Belt. Greg is grateful to be a part of such an exciting industry and helping evolve the construction process. He enjoys working in this industry each and every day, as it brings new challenges and opportunities. Greg exclaims just how blessed he is to have worked with so many experienced leaders and talented team members along the way. Outside of work and the association, you can find Greg spending quality time with his family, or out hunting, deep sea fishing, boating, or restoring classic cars.
