Jeff Taake
Jeff Taake is the current President of the Structural Building Components Association (SBCA); this year marks his first year in his presidential term and 21 years overall with the association. In addition to his current role as President, Jeff has also held the roles of SBCA Treasurer, SBCA Secretary, and Management Committee Chair. Jeff serves on the SBCA Board of Directors, SBCA Executive Committee, Management Committee, Governance Committee, and Finance Committee. As President of SBCA, Jeff’s goals are to continue to strengthen the association‘s offerings to the component manufacturers (CMs) through value-added services and deliverables; expand SBCA’s influence across other complementary associations; and encourage CMs to get involved and contribute to the association, with a focus on the upcoming generations.
For Jeff, his favorite part of the association is the interaction with other leaders in our industry, learning about what others are experiencing in their own businesses, and listening to the best practices from all around. He appreciates how SBCA stays on top of industry issues and how it provides learning and training opportunities and programs for its members. In addition to his participation within SBCA, he has also held leadership positions for the Nebraska Green Council, Associated Builders and Contractors, and the Iowa Truss Manufacturer Association.
“Jeff is a true leader of the industry,” says Larry Dix II, SBCA’s Treasurer and Owner of Apex Truss. “I have had the pleasure to work with Jeff weekly for four years. His clarity when he speaks is so refreshing in business today. He is a go-to contact for me as a business owner.”
“It has been a pleasure to work with Jeff over the years,” says Jess Lohse, SBCA’s Executive Director. “He has great ideas, guidance, insight, and leadership that has helped SBCA achieve many goals and make a lot of progress. I look forward to continuing the efforts of SBCA together in the years to come.”
Jeff studied Architecture and Business at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln and holds a Lean Management Certificate from the University of Nebraska – Omaha, in addition to being trained in Gallup’s Strengths Based Management. There are many achievements in Jeff’s life that he is proud of, one in particular is his service in the Air National Guard, serving the United States. In his free time, Jeff enjoys spending time traveling and golfing. He has a daughter who is a junior in college, studying structural engineering. Jeff resides in Omaha, NE, where since 2016 he has provided leadership and strategy for manufacturing operations and commercial sales across the company footprint as the Vice President of Manufacturing & Commercial Sales, Regional Manager, at Mead Lumber.
