Laura Yasick

Laura Yasick is SBCA’s Digital Resource Specialist; she has been with SBCA for over six years and has been the power to the machine ensuring all correspondence and email campaigns go out, the underlying structure of all SBCA websites are updated with current content, and managing the online academy platform. Laura possesses great attention to detail, website design skills, passion, and problem-solving skills. She is an asset to both the SBCA staff and association.

SBCA is always working on a variety of projects and Laura is a part of many of them. Two projects that consume a majority of Laura’s time have been setting up the Electronic BCSI and moving the Learning Management System (LMS) to another platform. Laura is proud of the work that has been done with the LMS so far and states that it is a great platform to support our education and training programs. She believes that we’ve found a long-term solution that will meet our members’ needs. As Digital Resource Specialist, Laura’s goal is to gain more insight into how we can engage with members and support them better using the data and analytics we’ll be able to glean from Association Analytics. Laura is very passionate about helping and supporting our members throughout their entire membership.

With Laura’s previous experience in web design and development, including work on an ecommerce website, in addition to all the experience from the last six years with SBCA, Laura has been an integral part of this organization. “I’ve had the pleasure of working with Laura for the last six years and from day one, she was a problem-solver,” says Molly Butz, SBCA’s Managing Director. “As our resident technology wrangler, she’s regularly working on our systems to make them function the best way they can for SBCA’s needs, and occasionally outside of their intent. I really appreciate her hard work, whether it’s for our members or someone on our staff.”

Most people probably know Laura best for her diligent work on our Learning Management System (LMS) and her excellent customer service. “Laura’s exceptional expertise and knowledge have been invaluable in launching our new LMS,” says Ashley Baker, SBCA’s Director of Education. “Her dedication, insight, and unwavering support have made the complex transition from one platform to another not only possible, but remarkably smooth.”

Laura earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, with minors in IT and Web Design. Laura and her husband, Adam, reside in Wisconsin with their two young children: Elowyn and Arden. Family is very important to Laura; she loves spending quality time as a family by going to arboretums, visiting the zoo where her husband works, checking out craft malls in Wisconsin Dells, and supporting her husband’s WWII collection by visiting antique stores. Laura used to be a tennis instructor and hopes to get her kids started in the sport soon once Arden is walking. You can often find her watching crime show documentaries or enjoying a good cup of coffee. Laura can be reached at lyasick@sbcacomponents.com.
