After huge success with last year’s inaugural Innovation Grant, SBCA is pleased to announce the return of the SBCA Innovation Grant for 2024. The SBCA Innovation Grant was created to encourage individuals and companies to share their ideas and solutions at SBCA’s annual BCMC show to help progress and better the structural components industry.
Similar to last year, applicants will have the ability to submit their innovations for review by a panel of judges. The application process opened April 1, 2024, and submissions will be accepted until 11:59pm Pacific Time on May 1, 2024. The Grant winner(s) will be notified on May 20, 2024.
One of SBCA’s Strategic Plan Initiatives is to: Attract, encourage, and recognize innovators in the structural building component manufacturing and offsite construction industry (SBCA Strategic Plan, 2.1.1.). In an effort to follow our innovation mission, this year there is the potential for multiple grants to be awarded. Part of the grant includes show floor booth space and exhibit passes for the entirety of BCMC 2024, providing the opportunity to showcase the grant recipient’s submitted solution(s) to over 2,000 potential customers within the industry.
One change to note, as mentioned above, is that the grant may be awarded to multiple applicants in 2024. If this happens, BCMC attendees will be given the opportunity to voice their opinions on which innovation they believe should win the title of SBCA’s People’s Choice Solution for 2024.
